Little Things

This is probably gonna be one of the most unFashion-related posts because I just wanted to take some time to appreciate the beauty of the little things in life. This song has been on my playlist on repeat, because it is truly beautiful and really makes me reflect on the beauty of people, of clothes, of fashion, of little things. The tiniest detail on a piece of clothing or accessory can truly make an outfit stand out. I've compiled a list of my current fashion inspirations for you so watch out for this space, Sabulous has more outfits up her sleeve!

Have a wonderful day~

Canvas and Casserole

Lazy Sundays
Sundays are the days reserved for comfy sweaters and canvas shoes. Sundays are the days unplanned for when you go for interviews, shopping, and sushi afterwards. Sundays are the days worth lounging around in with your laptop on hand, music plugged in your ears. Sundays are best reserved for lazy Sunday casserole dinners.

Cheers to a weekend well spent!

Cooking Healthy: Lemon Garlic Shrimp Linguine

Don't think this blog is all about fashion- clothes wise. Fashion comes in all mediums really- even food! The way in which you plate your food or add different colors and layers in a simple dish can really make the taste explode in your mouth, which is exactly what this dish is all about. Light and refreshing with a tangy twist to it, this linguine is easy to prepare and 100% home-cooked!

You will need:
1. Butter
2. Salt and Pepper
3. Linguine
4. Prawns (peeled)
5. Spinach leaves (mixed salad greens)
6. Cheddar Cheese
7. Freshly squeezed lemon juice
8. Lemon zest
9. Mixed Herbs
10. Chopped chilies (optional)
11. Chopped garlic

How To:
1. Place roughly 2 spoonfuls of butter onto sauté pan (the level of buttery-ness depends on personal preference)
2. Add 2 cloves of chopped garlic and fry till semi-cooked
3. Add peeled prawns (about 6 for one serving) [add chilies at this point if you want spiciness]
4. Squeeze half a lemon onto mixture
5. Add half a lemon's worth of zest
6. Season with salt and pepper
7. Add spinach (or salad) leaves to mixture
8. Add cooked pasta, stir well to ensure sauce is coated on pasta
9. Garnish with herbs and Parmesan cheese

Kafé de Korean  (A Korean-Inspired Outfit)
My friend Pearl recently bought me a sweater from Harvard University and as excited as I was to wear it, I had to think of a way to put a feminine touch on this oversize jumper. Most people think of college-inspired pullovers as comfortable wardrobe essentials you can throw atop some shorts and ugg boots for a casual style, but I decided to be fashionably girly and adventurous and try to transform a simple varsity hoodie into a fashion statement. With the right styling, I think I managed to achieve a completely different look, don't you think? ;)

Korean fashion has always been about comfy, oversize knits or sweaters piled atop skinny jeans, denim cutoffs or mini skirts, so I decided to get Korean-inspired and pair the Harvard sweatshirt with a 3d floral print high-waist skirt from H&M and GORGEOUS new Prada heels for a sophisticated finish!

Not only did I have a wonderful photo session with my amazing photographer Nectar, I also managed to spend my lazy Saturday afternoon with two of my tea-time favorites: a slice of rocky road cake and iced caramel latte~

50 Shades of Autumn

FEATURING...Wonhee and Krizto!!!

The weather these days has been about 20-23 degrees, a perfect temperature for Autumn I might say. In fact, when I think of Autumn, I think of neutrals, browns in all shades and tones, leather boots, leather jackets, cozy infinity scarves (snoods), and legs, legs, legs (before we cover them up for Winter).

The leather boots are from H&M and have been my recent favorite footwear find! I'm still trying to find the perfect pair of form-fitting, knee-high suede black boots for Winter though.

Special thanks to my group members Wonhee and Krizto for making a cameo in my blog entry! I'm totally loving the denim vest. It's something so versatile and provides a perfect transition piece from the summer to fall. The bad-ass leather jacket was borrowed from Krizto, my unofficial photographer for the day. Let's face it, she totally rocks it way better than I do! ;P

P.S Stay tuned for my weekend posts!

Stylespiration: Taylor Swift

Pretty with an Edge
I was browsing through Google for some fashion inspiration when I chanced upon this image of Taylor Swift. Her style is pretty relatable to most girls out there - it's the epitome of girl-next-door. Sifting through the clothes in my wardrobe, lo and behold, I managed to find a floral print dress that I hardly ever wear (because girly isn't really my style) and paired it with a simple cardigan like Taylor. It's barely autumn here, so I threw the idea of wearing tights away and decided to toughen up the look with some killer aviator shades and a chain belt.
The end result? Pretty with an edge.

The Trend: Denim on Denim
Feeling somewhat languorous, I decided to go for a casual Monday-esque style, pairing an oversize denim boyfriend shirt with white-wash denim high waist shorts. There are so many things you can do with a denim blouse really, like tucking it into a sequinned skirt (for texture) or ripped denim shorts (can you say edgy?). In fact, I think I may actually introduce a series on how to mix-and-match your denim shirt! So many ideas running through my head on how to continue the concept of this fashion blog of mine at the moment.

Guess you just have to stay tuned. ;)
